Applalachian Trail Conservancy

The Appalachian Trail Conservancy is a volunteer-based, private nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation of the 2,175-mile Appalachian National Scenic Trail, a 250,000-acre greenway extending from Maine to Georgia. Their mission is to ensure that future generations will enjoy the clean air and water, scenic vistas, wildlife and opportunities for simple recreation and renewal along the entire Trail corridor.

Mountaineer Food Bank
Mountaineer Food Bank, a private, non-profit organization, was founded in 1981 as the result of the efforts of an anti-hunger coalition.  These caring people were operating feeding programs in West Virginia, and they were looking for ways to feed more people with their funds.

A report on hunger in West Virginia reveals that 37 percent of children under age 12
are hungry or at risk of hunger in West Virginia, according to Margaret Miltenberger,

Buffalo Bill Historical Center  Five museums in one.

The Buffalo Bill Museum examines both the personal and public lives of W.F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody, and seeks to interpret his story in the context of the history and myth of the American West.

The Whitney Gallery of Western Art presents an outstanding collection of masterworks of the American West. Original paintings, sculptures and prints trace artistic interpretations of the West from the early 19th century to today.

The Plains Indian Museum features one of the country's largest and finest collections of Plains Indian art and artifacts. Explore the cultural histories, artistry and living traditions of Plains Indian peoples, including the Arapaho, Crow, Cheyenne, Kiowa, Comanche, Blackfeet, Sioux, Gros Ventre, Shoshone and Pawnee.

The Cody Firearms Museum contains the world's most comprehensive assemblage of American arms, as well as European arms dating to the 16th century.

The Draper Museum of Natural History integrates the humanities with natural sciences to interpret the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and adjacent intermountain basins.


Teton Science Schools
Teton Science Schools were founded in 1967. Since that time they have been educating, training and inspiring students of all ages about the natural world. A recognized leader in education for not only the Jackson Hole community and Wyoming, but on national and international levels as well.



Wyoming Outdoor Council

WOC's work encompasses a broad range of conservation issues that affect Wyoming's environmental integrity: public lands protection, state environmental policy, wildlife and its habitat, oil and gas development, mining and mine reclamation, watersheds and rivers and nuclear and toxic wastes. As the state's leading conservation organization, WOC serves as the "state council" for interstate cooperation on environmental issues of concern to states.
