MISSISSIPPI
Humane Society of Southern Mississippi
The HSSM was established in 1952 as the Harrison County Humane Society.
It was located in a WWII armory bunker until March 2006. The old
facility was situated next to a sewage treatment plant. It was dark,
dank and never designed to hold the number of animals brought in each
day. On March 3, 2006, HSSM moved to its new location on Highway 49
near downtown Gulfport. The 41,000 square foot, state of the art
facility is located on eight acres and offers a safe, sanitary and
pleasant shelter designed to meet the needs of the area’s
homeless animals.

MONTANA
Montana
Wilderness Association
Since 1958, the spirited people of Montana Wilderness Association have
worked to protect Montana’s wilderness, wildlife habitat, and
traditional recreation opportunities. We were instrumental in the
passage of the 1964 Wilderness Act and in the designation of every
Wilderness area in the state, like the Bob Marshall, Scapegoat, and
Absaroka-Beartooth Wildernesses. We also helped win Wild and Scenic
designations for the Missouri and Flathead rivers, and National
Monument status for the stunning Upper Missouri River Breaks.
Yellowstone Park
Foundation
The Yellowstone Park Foundation works in cooperation with the National
Park Service to fund projects and programs that protect, preserve, and
enhance the natural and cultural resources and the visitor experience
of Yellowstone National Park. This can only be accomplished with the
support of individuals and organizations that care about Yellowstone
and want to help ensure that its magic endures forever.
